Jo-Ta is an interdisciplinary – video jockey. With roots in La Paz. He currently divides his work between Susegana, IT and Berlin, DE. Also in Bolivia he is the founder of the audiovisual artist collective «Formula Lumen».

With an academic background in Visual Anthropology and Environment Sciences, Jo-Ta explores the individual, the collective, and nature through designs inspired by his Andean roots and intuition. His influences come from the culture of the 90s, including street art and music, as well as from every social environment he finds himself in. He has learned from various worlds, such as the Mormon religion, the academic studies or his role as Secretary of Cultures at the Bolivian Embassy in Germany.

He integrates video, audio and also recyclable materials in his compositions, through the techniques of video jockey and video mapping transcending the boundaries between the digital, the real and the spiritual. Jo – Ta believes in chaos as perfection, which is, the cosmos that unites understanding and feeling in his philosophy.

He presented «Phone Cue» at the Manila Biennale, PH 2018; «Enjoy The View» at the DGV Conference in Berlin-DE 2017; but also as project management, specifically for the video mapping at the opening & closing ceremony of the «South American Games» 2018 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. And lately «MATRAKA PATRÓN – EXPRESS» in 14.07.24 at the Cholet JHOSELYN, El Alto, BO.
